Yes, Already
It is August in Spokane. Nearly a hundred degrees. The sky has been hazy from the fires burning in the area and a lot of people are just now coming back to their homes hoping everything is still standing and intact.
The last thing on anyone’s mind right now is Christmas lights.
Which is exactly why we are talking about it.
This is going to be a year where holiday lighting means something different in Spokane. The darkness and the voids left behind by the fires, literally and figuratively, make the case for lighting things up stronger than it has been in a while. A neighborhood that went through something hard this summer is a neighborhood that deserves to feel festive and bright when December arrives.
We start hanging Christmas lights in mid October. Every year. Without fail.
We hear this one regularly. October feels early. It is not even Halloween yet.
Here is the practical reality. We have a finite number of install days between mid October and Thanksgiving. Every returning client gets priority scheduling. New clients fill the remaining windows. By the time most people start thinking about holiday lights in early November the best dates are already spoken for and we are working with what is left.
Starting in October is not about rushing the season. It is about making sure every display goes up properly with time to address anything that needs attention before the holidays actually arrive.
And here is the part that puts the early timing concern to rest completely. Every single light installation we do comes with a photo cell timer. You control when your lights come on. If you are not ready to see Christmas lights on your house on October 20th you do not have to. The timer sits on the outlet and you switch it when you feel like the season has arrived.
For homes with a dedicated holiday lighting outlet up under the eaves we handle the timer placement up there during the install. If you want us to come back and switch it on when you are ready we will do that at no charge. No appointment needed, no bill, no hassle.
Your lights go up on our schedule. They come on when you decide.
Every year we put together a few Bright Side branded raffle baskets and donate them to local events, silent auctions, and fundraisers around Spokane.
We have not locked in exactly which causes we are supporting this season yet but keep an eye out. The baskets typically include holiday lighting packages and exterior cleaning services and they go for significantly less than what you would pay booking directly. It is a genuinely good deal on our services and the money goes somewhere worth sending it.
If you run a charity event, a school auction, or a community fundraiser in Spokane and want to talk about getting a Bright Side basket involved reach out to us. We are always looking for the right causes to support and the right events to be part of.
We design every display around the specific property and the specific homeowner. That sounds like marketing language but here is what it actually means in practice.
We offer a variety of bulb colors and styles that most companies in this market do not carry. If your house is a warm red brick and you want displays that complement that rather than clash with it we can do that. If your exterior paint is a cool grey and you want crisp white lights that make it feel intentional rather than default we can do that too. If you want to match the garland and wreaths you already put out every year we work around what you have going.
The leasing model means we own the lights throughout our relationship which means we are responsible for them every night they are on your house. Bulbs burn out we come back. No warranty window, no expiration date, no fine print. Your display looks right the whole season or we make it right.
Every year without fail we get calls in January from homeowners whose lighting contractor installed their lights, collected full payment for installation and removal, and then stopped answering the phone.
If that happens to you this year call us. We handle holiday light removal for other contractors’ work and in most cases we do it at no charge if the lights are commercial grade, because the goal is to earn your business next season not to bill you for someone else’s failure to show up.
The full story on how we handle that situation is on our holiday light removal page.
We service all of Spokane and can design unique displays for every neighborhood and property type. See our full holiday light installation page for details on how the process works, what the leasing model includes, and how to get on the schedule.
Or just call or text Kris at 509-464-9461. October fills up faster than you think and this is the year to light things up.
